Looking after myself

It’s important to look after yourself. There are lots of easy things you can do to look after your mental health. Here are some of our top tips for looking after yourself:

  • Keep active – go for a walk or bike ride, exercising often makes us feel good and changes our mood
  • Eat good food – eating healthy food and drinking plenty of water will keep your body and your brain feeling good
  • Talk about it – don’t be afraid to talk about anything that might be bothering you and how you are feeling with someone you trust
  • Do something  you enjoy– like seeing your friends or playing your favourite game
  • Chill and relax – find what helps you to relax, try different things and see what works for you. Maybe listen to music, read or draw
  • Get plenty of sleep
  • Keep a diary – writing down how you feel might help you feel better.
