When we accept a referral in to the service you will be seen by our Getting Help pathway. A CAMHS clinician will work with you to think about the difficulties you are experiencing. We will undertake an assessment to help us identify what support you may need from the service. This assessment may take place at home, Kimberworth Place or other suitable venue or we may telephone you or set up a video call. This assessment will involve the young person and parents or carers. The assessment includes looking at areas of risk or concern and helps us to identify what support you might need.
Following assessment if further intervention from CAMHS is required then together we will develop a plan of care to look at what interventions and support can be put in place to help you.
Your plan might include:
- 1:1 sessions with your worker
- Group work sessions with other young people
- Your plan of care may also include other professionals from within our service such as a doctor or therapist.
We also work with other professionals to look at what other support might be useful to you and your family for example school or other services in the community.
