North Lincolnshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service provides mental health assessments, therapy and interventions for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. Also to their families or identified carers when children and young people experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties.
We are a multi-disciplinary team of professionals based at St Nicholas House, Shelford Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 6NU. We provide assessment and interventions for young people and their families to help them gain an understanding of their difficulties and to find ways on how to manage, improve, and reduce the impact of their difficulties in their everyday lives.
The mental health conditions we typically see are:
- Anxiety disorders
- Depression/low mood
- Bipolar disorder
- Psychosis
- Obsessive-compulsive disorders
- Eating disorders
- Self-harm / suicidal thoughts
- Neurological-developmental disorders where an assessment is required for example Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
North Lincolnshire CAMHS provides a range of interventions as identified by National Institute of Health and Care Excellence guidelines to address the identified needs of each child, young person and family. This could include individual, group therapies, family work, medication were indicated, inpatient care if required, joint working or providing support to other agencies in a consultative manner.
