Community Eating Disorders Service accepts referrals from professionals, as well as self-referrals. In order to safely triage each referral we need to know as much of the following information as possible. However, please do not delay making referral if some of this is missing or will take a long time to obtain:

  • Summary of the current concerns
  • Current weight and height
  • History of weight and height over time
  • Changes in eating behaviour and food preferences
  • Exercise levels
  • Any other behaviours intended to control weight or body shape
  • Distorted self-perception or body-image difficulties
  • How the young person and their family are managing
  • Any recent blood chemistry results, blood pressure and pulse
  • Contact details of the referred young person and their family
  • Whether you have consent from the young person and their family to refer to Community Eating Disorders Service

Please refer by contacting us on 01302 566980

Clinicians can refer by emailing from an email account only. Referrals will not be accepted from non accounts as patient identifiable information cannot be sufficiently protected.

Community Eating Disorders Service will attempt to contact every referred young person or their family within 24 hours of referral to complete a telephone triage with them
